Aluminum Vehicle Mounting Kit
|
The company was awarded a contract by the U.S. Military to coordinate the assembly and fabrication of an elaborate communications gear mounting and modification kit for field command and control combat vehicles. Having experience in complex supply-chain consolidation procurements coupled with our in-house military contract metal fabrication capabilities this contract was a perfect match for our expertise in meeting the complex specifications of such a project.
By way of multifold fabrication processes such as cutting, drilling, boring, press die bending, fusion welding per MIL-STD-2219, and welding per MILSTD 1261 (TIG / GTAW & MIG / GMAW) as well as our depth of know how in marking, stenciling and military CARC finishing, we took 6061-T6 aluminum, 5052 aluminum, 4130 steel tubing and other specified materials and assembled them as directed. Priming, painting, stenciling, and labeling assembly processes were also expertly executed, not to mention the procurement of 43 fabricated assemblies and hardware components and parts for the complete kits. Individual parts and sub-assemblies were segregated, marked, bagged and boxed as specified.
The results were justifiably impressive. With complex, overall part dimensions ranging in thickness from .030"-thick aluminum sheet, to .190"-thick aluminum sheet, to .250"-thick aluminum sheet, to .375"-thick aluminum sheet; and with overall dimensions of 2.750" in terms of aluminum bar and 1.00" in O.D. steel tubing, the exacting MIL-STD 1595A standards in weld quality were more than met. Painted tactical flat black, weighing 100 lbs. per kit, and possessing tightest tolerances of ±.015", our resulting mount kits were shipped to various military destinations throughout the continental U.S. For additional information, please contact US Packaging Specialties today, or refer to the table below. |
